On Beginnings
D For Donkey Studios believes that beginnings should be celebrated slowly, not hyped loudly, because not every beginning is a visible, tangible start. Some are beginnings within ourselves, some are beginnings along with others, some are beginnings for everyone, and maybe for no one.
But there are many beginnings, as there should be, and out of those many beginnings, some come to an end. An end, which is a beginning in itself.
The beginning of DFDStudios is the amalgamation of 26 years of life lived by Sahil and 30 years (and counting) of moments by Hina. Over the years together, this sibling duo had the beginnings of many road trips, football matches, contra games, WWF moves, Vengaboys tracks, and the beginnings of adulthood in different cities, but what remained constant was D for donkey.
What is D For Donkey?
A joke.
A story.
A moment.
A silent agreement.
An unsaid but understood emotion.
An eternally accepted identity.
At its core, D For Donkey is an honest way of living and loving.
What you, my dear reader, can expect from D For Donkey Studios is D carrying her experiences, moments, and learnings — and gently guiding you somewhere with a smile, a relieved sigh, and the comfort of a soft, fuzzy blanket.
You can also expect D to stumble sometimes.
To get up.
To experiment.
To travel.
To talk.
To laugh.
To share.
And most of all, to figure out this beginning — with you hopping along beside her.
One of the first poems D ever read in school stayed with her:
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
-Robert Frost
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
D is quite imaginative. So naturally, she has imagined two roads diverging in a jungle — and she has chosen the one less traveled by.
